@Xav: Well, even if it’s not backported to Maemo5, it could be in time for Maemo 6/Meego, and I’m really looking forward Meego being supported for N900. Also, one of the beauties of free software is someone could come and package new versions of tinymail for Maemo 5 if there isn’t any API/ABI break. Sure there are some guys out there willing for this as can be seen on https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3888

@ignacius: well, the N900 looks to be only in bugfix mode now, so even when/if Modest gains IMAP IDLE support, it probably won’t be backported to N900.

Any progress on making IMAP IDLE battery friendly? Is so important for mobile devices such as the N900…
