I wonder why only one “leader” is soon going to hang for “war crimes”?
Warning: extremely violent footage (but nevertheless, the truth): fallujah_ING.wmv, (mirror)
What about the American leaders and (especially the non-puppet) war planners? Shouldn’t they be punished? Given they have permitted the usage of white phosphor and M77 (a napalm-like), which is clearly a violation of international law of war (in other words, they committed war crimes), which makes them directly and personally responsible for what you see in the movie.
I wonder when, or should I wonder “if”, these people will ever be judged for this?
And just to make sure it gets spread, Mr. Leverett explaining how he got silenced by the Bush administration.
They’ve also been “planning and waging an agressive war”, and Kofi Annan described the invasion as illegal under the U.N. charter.
And all that’s without even opening the “War on Terror” can o’ worms, most of which violates either the Geneva Conventions or U.S. laws against torture, illegal imprisonment, etc.
Not to mention simple, human decency.
In a few days we are living in the year 2007. You know, “modern times”.
Is this how the United States government projects “modern mankind” in the year 2007?
The primary source for the film is Jeff Englehart, who has since been discredited, since he was never part of the battle of Fallujah. He was deployed to a rear area, probably for a reason too.

The film goes on to do stuff like show people *approaching* with a white flag, shots being fired, and then them running away. Notice that:
* They are not hit
* The shots stop when they change direction.
The tactics used by those who stayed in Fallujah *were* war crimes:

After two of your comrades die from being shot by someone holding a white flag, you will be sure to warn others who approach you with a white flag to stay away.
No accounts are questioned. The film even assumes that all combantants wore bullet proof vests, and all civilians didn’t. The primary front on this war is that of propoganda. If you go out there, asking people questions, attempting to back up that the US commited war crimes, you will absolutely find affirmative answers.
Much of the film also seems to be very focused on the fact that many fighters died in very grusome ways. Its a war, its horrible, it isn’t pretty.
Mr. Leverett is not a journalist:

If you have a security clearance, and then expect to write journalistic articles on topics for which you have viewed extensive classified information you can expect censure. Because we can never know what was redacted or why, he is free to claim whatever he wants about some imaginary secret police and not be called out.
If it is from another paper that he wrote and released, then *anyone* can publish a summary op-ed. To say that free spreech writes are being quashed is ludicrus.
to RussDill:
who t.f. cares if it is an official chemical weapon or not!!!!!
The only thing that matters is that people are being killed in a horrible way, for no reason!
“it’s a war, it’s horrible, it isn’t pretty” as if that clears up the whole discussion! Yeah, the holocaust was horrible, it wasn’t pretty… but hey, it’s war you know…
War starts wherever there are people who think money and ideologies is something worth killing for, and well, some civillians are boud to get shot, but that’s all part of the game.
One can only hope that GW Bush gets a chance to explain himself in front of a UN Tribunal. May he somehow feel the consequences of his deeds…
